    FAQs

      What is Lutron Intelligent Lighting?

Intelligent Lighting is Lutron's new architectural lighting system that places individually addressable, native wireless control inside each fixture—eliminating the need for control wiring, centralised panels, or electrical closets.

Because Lutron engineers both the light source (Ketra and Orluna) and the control system, every fixture delivers identical colour, output, and dimming performance down to 0.1%.

This marks a fundamental shift from traditional wired systems: instead of running low-voltage control wire to centralised panels, you only need line voltage to each fixture. The result is faster installations, fewer contractor coordination issues, and the ability to create per-fixture scenes or reassign zones without ever touching a wire.

Built to work with Lutron's most advanced control systems—HomeWorks, RadioRA 3, Athena, and myRoom XC—Intelligent Lighting is designed for luxury residential and hospitality projects where both performance and installation efficiency matter.

What is Lutron announcing at ISE 2026?

Lutron is launching Intelligent Lighting—a new category of architectural lighting that combines in-house designed light sources with native wireless control built as a part of each fixture. The system eliminates control wiring and centralised panels while delivering true fixture-to-fixture colour consistency across downlights, lamps, and linears.

Also debuting: Palladiom Drapery, which brings automated control to exposed drapery hardware with the refined design Palladiom is known for, and Sivoia Roman, extending Lutron's whisper-quiet precision to bespoke Roman soft treatments.

      What is Ketra lighting?

Ketra is the world's most innovative architectural light source, backed by over 70 patents and recognised as the biggest leap forward in lighting technology since Edison's carbon-filament bulb.

Unlike most LEDs that use phosphor coatings to approximate white light, Ketra delivers true full-spectrum illumination with the broadest tuning range and most sophisticated colour science available.

This allows seamless transitions from energising daylight tones to warm, relaxing evening light—all while maintaining precise colour consistency across every fixture type.

Ketra's engineering ensures that downlights, lamps, and linears deliver identical output and dimming performance, something nearly impossible when sourcing light and control separately. Now integrated into Lutron's Intelligent Lighting system, Ketra brings this unmatched performance to native wireless control, making it faster and simpler to install than ever before.

      What is Orluna CCX?

Orluna CCX is where Intelligent Light begins for sustainably made architectural luminaires. Orluna—known for refined, architecturally focused fixtures—has redesigned its tunable white product line to include Lutron's CCX wireless driver, enabling native compatibility with Lutron's most advanced control systems.

Each Orluna CCX fixture is individually addressable and wirelessly controlled, so you can create per-fixture scenes, adjust colour temperatures, and reconfigure lighting zones without running a single control wire.

The result is the design integrity Orluna is known for combined with the installation simplicity and fixture-level flexibility that defines Intelligent Lighting.

Orluna CCX works seamlessly with HomeWorks and RadioRA 3, bringing European design sensibility to Lutron's wireless ecosystem.

What makes Palladiom Drapery different from traditional motorised tracks?

Palladiom Drapery combines the visual elegance of an exposed curtain pole with the precision and whisper-quiet operation of a fully automated Lutron track.

Unlike traditional motorised tracks that require visible hardware or bulky mechanisms, Palladiom Drapery integrates Lutron's proven quiet motor technology into slender, refined hardware that complements the fabric rather than competing with it.

The system maintains the classic aesthetic of a decorative curtain pole while delivering the programmable control, scene integration, and reliability clients expect from Lutron. It's designed for spaces where drapery is a design feature—not something to hide—and where automated control needs to feel effortless rather than mechanical.

Palladiom Drapery works with Lutron's control systems to coordinate with lighting, shades, and other automated elements throughout the home.

How do I book a demo at ISE 2026?

No booking required—simply stop by the Lutron booth at ISE 2026, held February 3-6 at the Fira de Barcelona Gran Via in Barcelona, Spain.

We'll be running live demonstrations of Intelligent Lighting approximately every 15 minutes throughout the event. These demos are designed to showcase the experiential benefits of Intelligent Lighting when integrated into the complete Lutron system, not just isolated fixture performance.

You'll see how Ketra and Orluna CCX fixtures work in harmony with Palladiom Drapery, Sivoia shades, and Lutron control systems to create seamless, whole-room experiences—where lighting, shading, and climate respond together to support how people actually use a space.

The demonstrations highlight what sets Intelligent Lighting apart: fixture-to-fixture colour consistency across downlights, lamps, and linears; the wireless flexibility to create per-fixture scenes and reconfigure zones on the fly; and the full tuning range of Ketra's full-spectrum technology as it shifts from energising daylight tones to warm, relaxing evening light.

You'll also see how the system integrates with Lutron controls—so you can understand how Intelligent Lighting fits into projects you're already designing or installing.

The Lutron team will be available throughout ISE to answer project-specific questions and discuss how Intelligent Lighting solves the installation and performance challenges you face with traditional wired systems.

      Walk-ins are always welcome.

Does Intelligent Lighting work in the UK and Europe?

Yes. Intelligent Lighting is available in the UK and Europe. In the future, it will be available in other regions using 230V electrical systems.

Both Ketra and Orluna CCX fixtures are engineered to operate on 230V line voltage, and they integrate seamlessly with Lutron's control systems deployed in these markets.

This means professional integrators and lighting designers in the UK and Europe can now specify the same fixture-to-fixture colour consistency, wireless addressability, and installation simplicity that Intelligent Lighting delivers—without adapting or compromising on performance.

For projects in the UK and Europe, where traditional wired systems like DALI or 0-10V have been the standard, Intelligent Lighting offers a compelling alternative: faster installation, no control wiring, no electrical closet, and the ability to add or reconfigure fixtures wirelessly after construction.

If you're working on a luxury residential or hospitality project in these markets and want to explore Intelligent Lighting, contact your regional Lutron representative to discuss availability and system design.
